National Day of Remembrance

Join us on Saturday, September 21st to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance with a survivor picnic to honor loved ones lost to violence in our community.

In 2007, Congress designated September 25th as the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. Since then, Homicide Survivors, Inc. has participated in hosting meaningful local events in observance of this day.

This year we will be hosting NDOR on September 21 at the Himmel Park. The event will include food, drinks, and a craft activity for you to take home.

Survivors are encouraged to bring the following:

  • Feel free to bring your person’s favorite dish to share with others
  • Lawn chairs and/or picnic  blankets to sit on
  • 8 by 10 or smaller framed photo of your loved one to place on the community altar
