Services

Homicide Survivors, Inc. has served the family and friends of homicide victims in Arizona since 1982. Our Advocates provide emotional support, legal advocacy, and financial assistance for Survivors experiencing the traumatic aftermath of losing a loved one to homicide.

Advocacy

At Homicide Survivors Inc., we believe that a compassionate and trauma-informed response to survivors is essential to creating a safe space to grieve, heal, and transform. Grief is a lifelong journey; we are here to provide you with the tools and resources necessary to move forward.

HSI Advocates are available to attend court hearings with survivors and to serve as a liaison between the family, the assigned prosecutor, and victim.

HSI partners with a variety of Attorneys who offer comprehensive legal services, such as, child custody, life insurance, probate, wrongful death lawsuits, and more.

Homicide Survivors can serve as a liaison between survivors and the media. As well as, assist with press conferences for cold or unsolved cases, obtain an 88 Crime Flyer, serve as a liaison between survivors and reporters to schedule interview, raising awareness on violence prevention and available resources.

Support

Attending your first support group takes courage. In our meetings, we provide a supportive network of friendship and understanding where you can share stories, experiences, and emotions.

We offer a number of traditional support groups for adult survivors. The emotions experienced after homicides are unique and something that is only fully understood by other survivors. At our support groups, you are able to sit and talk with other survivors about their reactions, without fear of judgment or you can take the time to listen.

  • Hope and Healing Workshops
  • Equine Therapy
  • Annual Memorial Events

Our Hope & Healing Workshops offer survivors an opportunity to connect with their community, while holding a safe and creative atmosphere for survivors to express their emotions.

Assistance

When a homicide occurs, the last thing a survivor wants to think about is dealing with all of the logistical and financial burdens that this crime can bring.

National Crime Victims Rights Week (April 21 - 27)

Every April, the Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) helps lead communities nationwide in their annual observances of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.

We invite you to join us from April 21-27, where Homicide Survivors will host events empowering survivors through workshops, survivors’ stories on hope, and our Annual Candlelight Vigil.

Arizona Gives Day is April 4th!

Every year, families in our community are shattered by the loss of a loved one to homicide. Please consider joining us this Arizona Gives Day and donating to our cause. Your contribution will ensure we continue to provide services to Survivors, such as advocacy, support and assistance.
