LUZ DE VIDA: A Compilation to Benefit the Victims of the Tucson Tragedy that shook the Tucson community – began in the days after the January 8, 2011 shooting that took the lives of six people and injured 19 others, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Luz de Vida – Spanish for Light of Life – is an expression of community, love, healing, grace, and hope, a positive response from Tucson musicians and national artists. The original Tucson Together Fund ceased in 2013 and since then, funds have been donated to Homicide Survivors, Inc., a local nonprofit who’s mission is to help meet the crisis and long-term needs of families of murder victims through support, advocacy, and assistance. Join us on Saturday, September 21st to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance with a survivor picnic to honor loved ones lost to violence in our community. The event will include food, drinks, and a craft activity for you to take home.
Every year, families in our community are shattered by the loss of a loved one to homicide. Please consider joining us this Arizona Gives Day and donating to our cause. Your contribution will ensure we continue to provide services to Survivors, such as advocacy, support and assistance.
